CCNA is the usual starting point for all Cisco training. This will enable you to operate on maintaining and installing routers and switches. The internet is made up of many routers, and big organisations who have different locations need them to allow their networks of computers to communicate.
To take this course, you should be clear on computer networks and how they operate and function, because computer networks are joined to routers. Otherwise, you’ll probably struggle. You might look for a course covering basic networking skills (for example Network+, perhaps with A+) before getting going with CCNA. Look for a training provider that can offer this as a career package.
Find a tailored course that takes you on a progressive path to ensure you’ve got the appropriate skills and abilities before starting your training in Cisco skills.
Proper support should never be taken lightly – find a program providing 24×7 full access, as anything less will frustrate you and could put a damper on the speed you move through things.
Be wary of any training providers that use ‘out-of-hours’ call-centres – where an advisor will call back during the next ‘working’ day. It’s not a lot of help when you’ve got study issues and need help now.
The very best training providers have many support offices across multiple time-zones. They use an online interactive interface to provide a seamless experience, irrespective of the time you login, help is just a click away, without any contact issues or hassle.
Seek out a training company that goes the extra mile. As only true 24×7 round-the-clock live support provides the necessary backup.
The perhaps intimidating chore of securing your first IT job can be made easier by training colleges, through a Job Placement Assistance facility. Because of the great skills shortage in the United Kingdom right now, it’s not too important to become overly impressed with this service however. It isn’t so complicated as you might think to get a job as long as you’ve got the necessary skills and qualifications.
CV and Interview advice and support may be available (alternatively, check out one of our sites for help). Ensure you update that dusty old CV today – don’t wait until you’ve finished your exams!
A good number of junior support roles are offered to trainees who’re still on their course and haven’t got any qualifications yet. This will at least get you on your way.
The top companies to help you find a job are most often independent and specialised local recruitment services. Because they make their money when they’ve found you a job, they’ll work that much harder to get a result.
Fundamentally, as long as you focus the same level of energy into securing your first job as into studying, you won’t find it too challenging. Some trainees strangely invest a great deal of time on their course materials and then just stop once they’ve passed their exams and would appear to think that businesses will just discover them.
There is a tidal wave of change about to hit technology in the near future – and it becomes more and more thrilling each day.
We’ve only just begun to get an inclination of how technology will define our world. The internet will massively change the way we regard and interrelate with the world as a whole over the coming years.
Let’s not forget that income in the IT industry throughout this country is considerably more than average salaries nationally, which means you will more than likely earn noticeably more in the IT sector, than you’d get in most other industries.
Due to the technological sector increasing nationally and internationally, it’s predictable that the need for certified IT professionals will remain buoyant for decades to come.
Don’t put too much store, like so many people do, on the training course itself. Your training isn’t about getting a plaque on your wall; this is about gaining commercial employment. You need to remain focused on where you want to go.
It’s a terrible situation, but the majority of trainees commence training that sounds wonderful from the sales literature, but which provides a job that is of no interest. Try talking to typical university graduates to see what we mean.
You’ll want to understand the exact expectations industry will have. Which particular qualifications you’ll need and in what way you can gain some industry experience. Spend some time considering how far you wish to go as often it can force you to choose a particular set of exams.
Look for help from a skilled advisor that ‘gets’ the commercial realities of the area you’re interested in, and who can give you ‘A day in the life of’ understanding of what duties you’ll be performing during your working week. It’s good sense to know if this change is right for you well before you commence your studies. There’s really no reason in beginning your training and then realise you’ve made a huge mistake.

In this article I will firstly talk about several basic techniques regarding how to tell if some person is lying to you. At Last, you will learn the masterful tactics in use by secret investigating authorities to determine lies, precisely the techniques practiced by human lie detectors.
The lair has a different body language. He starts doing things that a right individual will not do. Things such as touching the face, touching the hair repeatedly and playing with things around make the suspect suspicious.
Such a person avoids sustaining eye contact for long-term. If you attempt to establish eye contact, he or she will look elsewhere such as the nearby physical objects.
Another way to discover a liar is to question all details and do not give sufficient time to the person to think. In most instances, the liar will find it problematic to keep up with all the lies. He or she will be caught lying this way.
Such a individual also does not provide complete details interrelated to a lie and often tries to end the conversation. The sound tone is also not natural; it is either louder or lower than usual.
Their speaking style should also be studied. If they take too many breaks while talking and take deep breaths, it is likely that they are to hide something.
A study of eye movements of liars will say you how their eyes move when they tell lies. It all counts where they see and how their eyes flick while expressing something.
A liar always seeks to stop speaking about the subject that exposes his or her lies. He or she will attempt to change the topic or will fully cooperate with you if you vary the subject yourself. A genuine person will not change the topic too fast.
A liar frequently uses a different set of phrases and word combinations. Standing posture, wrath and hurriedness are other signals of lies. All these original tricks can be employed to find out somebody who is lying to you.

If your search is for Cisco training and you haven’t worked with routers before, what you need is the CCNA. This training course was created to teach students with a commercial knowledge of routers. Big organisations who have various regional departments need routers to connect their networks in different buildings to allow their networks to keep in touch. The Internet also is based on huge numbers of routers.
It’s vital that you already know a good deal about the operation and function of computer networks, as networks are connected to routers. Otherwise, you’ll probably struggle. Better to find a course teaching basic networking skills (for example Network+, perhaps with A+) before getting going with CCNA. Some companies will design a bespoke package for you.
Achieving CCNA is perfectly sufficient to start with; don’t be cajoled into attempting your CCNP. After gaining experience in the working environment, you’ll know if it’s relevant for you to have this next level up. Should that be the case, your experience will serve as the background you need for the CCNP – because it’s far from a walk in the park – and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Your training program should always include the most up to date Microsoft (or any other key organisation’s) authorised exam preparation packages.
As the majority of examining boards for IT are from the USA, it’s essential to understand how exam questions will be phrased and formatted. It isn’t good enough simply understanding random questions – they have to be in the same format as the actual exams.
Be sure to request some practice exams so you can test your knowledge at all times. Simulations of exams add to your knowledge bank – then the actual exam is much easier.
The world of information technology is one of the most exciting and ground-breaking industries you could be involved with. Being up close and personal with technology puts you at the fore-front of developments affecting everyone who lives in the 21st century.
We’re only just starting to comprehend how this will truly impact our way of life. How we correlate with the world as a whole will be inordinately affected by computers and the internet.
And keep in mind that income in IT over Britain as a whole is much better than the national average salary, therefore you will be in a good position to gain considerably more once qualified in IT, than you’d get in most other industries.
With the IT marketplace emerging year on year, it’s looking good that the search for certified IT specialists will remain buoyant for the significant future.
Searching for your first position in IT is often made easier if you’re offered a Job Placement Assistance facility. The need for this feature can be bigged up out of proportion though – it isn’t unusual for training companies to make too much of it. At the end of the day, the massive skills shortage in Great Britain is why employers will be interested in you.
Work on polishing up your CV right away however – you should get plenty of help from your training provider on this. Don’t procrastinate and leave it till the exams have actually been passed.
Various junior support jobs have been bagged by people who are still studying and haven’t got any qualifications yet. At least this will get your CV into the ‘possible’ pile and not the ‘no’ pile.
Generally, a specialist independent regional recruitment consultant or service (who will get paid by the employer when they’ve placed you) is going to give you a better service than a sector of a centralised training facility. Also of course they should know the local industry and employment needs.
A good number of trainees, so it seems, invest a great deal of time on their training course (for years sometimes), and then just stop instead of trying to get a job. Introduce yourself… Make an effort to let employers know about you. Don’t think a job’s just going to jump out in front of you.
Charging for examinations with the course fee then giving it ‘Exam Guarantee’ status is popular with a good many training companies. But look at the facts:
Everybody’s aware that they’re ultimately paying for it – it’s not so hard to see that it’s already in the overall figure from the training provider. It’s definitely not free (it’s just marketing companies think we’ll fall for anything they say!)
Evidence shows that if a student pays for each examination, when they’re ready to take them and not before, they will be much more likely to pass first time – because they are conscious of their payment and so will prepare more thoroughly.
Find the best exam deal or offer available when you take the exam, and avoid college mark-up fees. In addition, it’s then your choice where to take your exam – so you can choose somewhere closer to home.
Big margins are made by a number of companies that get money upfront for exam fees. A number of students don’t take them for various reasons but the company keeps the money. Believe it or not, there are companies around that rely on that fact – as that’s how they make a lot of their profit.
Additionally, you should consider what an ‘exam guarantee’ really means. Many training companies won’t be prepared to pay for re-takes until you can prove to them you’re ready to pass.
Paying maybe a thousand pounds extra on an ‘Exam Guarantee’ is foolish – when consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software is actually the key to your success.

If searching for Microsoft authorised training, it stands to reason you’ll want companies to offer a good number of some of the top training programs currently available.
Perhaps you’d like to talk about career options with a training advisor – and if you’re uncertain, then take counsel on which area of the industry would suit you most, based on your likes and dislikes and your character.
When you’ve settled on the career track for you, an appropriate course needs to be picked that’s reflects your current level of knowledge and ability. This can be personally tailored for your requirements.
Make sure that all your exams are current and also valid commercially – forget courses which end up with a useless in-house certificate or plaque.
From a commercial standpoint, only the major heavyweights such as Microsoft, Adobe, Cisco or CompTIA (for instance) will get you into the interview seat. Anything less just doesn’t cut the mustard.
The area most overlooked by trainees thinking about a course is ‘training segmentation’. This basically means the breakdown of the materials for timed release to you, which vastly changes where you end up.
You may think that it makes sense (with most training taking 1-3 years for a full commercial certification,) that a training provider will issue one module at a time, as you achieve each exam pass. However:
What would happen if you didn’t finish each and every exam within the time limits imposed? Often the prescribed exam order doesn’t come as naturally as another different route may.
In a perfect world, you want everything at the start – giving you them all to come back to at any time in the future – at any time you choose. Variations can then be made to the order that you complete each objective if another more intuitive route presents itself.
The perhaps intimidating chore of getting your first computer related job is often relieved by some companies, via a Job Placement Assistance facility. But don’t place too much emphasis on it – it’s quite easy for companies marketing departments to overstate it’s need. In reality, the need for well trained IT people in Great Britain is why employers will be interested in you.
Help and assistance with preparing a CV and getting interviews is sometimes offered (if not, see one of our sites for help). It’s essential that you work on your old CV straight away – not when you’re ready to start work!
Quite often, you’ll secure your initial position while you’re still a student (even in the early stages). If your course details aren’t on your CV (and it isn’t in the hands of someone with jobs to offer) then you won’t even be considered!
You can usually expect better results from a specialised and independent local recruitment service than you’ll get from a training course provider’s employment division, as they’ll know the local area and commercial needs better.
Essentially, if you put the same amount of effort into getting a position as into studying, you won’t have any problems. A number of students strangely put hundreds of hours into their training course and then just stop once they’ve passed their exams and appear to be under the impression that jobs will come to them.
Many individuals don’t comprehend what IT can do for us. It’s ground-breaking, exciting, and puts you at the fore-front of developments in technology that will impact the whole world for generations to come.
We’ve only just begun to see just how technology will influence everything we do. Computers and the Internet will massively alter the way we view and interact with the rest of the world over the coming years.
The usual IT man or woman over this country as a whole will also receive significantly more money than equivalent professionals in much of the rest of the economy. Typical salaries are some of the best to be had nationwide.
With the IT marketplace increasing nationally and internationally, one can predict that the search for well trained and qualified IT technicians will remain buoyant for a good while yet.

An organization can prosper only with good team productivity, and if team members are healthy and productive, then the team performs well and the company prospers. Hence team inspiration and unity are of paramount importance. Introducing some physical fitness and gym drills by hiring a personal trainer in team building events can contribute a lot towards achieving that objective.
A team building session ensures a welcome break from the daily monotony of work, besides promoting unity and raising confidence levels. Team building exercises feature prominently in corporate calendars because defunct team can be ruinous for them. Employees benefit immensely from team building events as they are able to get rid of their insecurities and build stronger bonds with their seniors and colleagues.
Employees forced to toil away their hours in deskbound jobs are always open for some physical activity. This is where the necessity for personal training is realized at team building events. Personal trainers can educate the employees by suggesting them several fitness schedules and proper diet with good nutritional constituents. Zeal to stay fit that commences at the workplace can be extended to the gym by the staff, as such events make them serious and committed about health issues.
Employees always hooked on to computers often complain of stress and back pain. Obesity too has become a serious health hazard in the business world. A personal training event informs what complications the employees are afflicted with and the remedies available, besides giving them much needed breather by providing a releasing break from the drab routine.
The innovativeness of such personal training events, which can even involve a gym session, can freshen up the lives of employees and motivate them greatly. The staff will feel that their company really is concerned and cares about their welfare, and this solidifies their attachment with the organization.
A personal trainer hired for such a session must have vast knowledge on computer related ailments. He must be conscious of the mindset of the staff as well so that he can organize an engaging session with them. Moreover, he should be able to give some rational and interesting suggestions, which the staff can use for the rest of their lives.
A united and motivated team is what employers are always looking for. Thus, investment on team building events with special emphasis on personal training and gym sessions is always an intelligent idea, as it is able to achieve these aims, and improves the health of the employees at the same time.

For those interested in joining a web design team, an Adobe Dreamweaver course is a fundamental criteria for attaining relevant certifications that are recognised around the world.
The whole Adobe Web Creative Suite should also be understood in-depth. Doing this will familiarise you in Action Script and Flash, amongst others, and could lead on to the Adobe Certified Professional (ACP) or an Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) certification.
In order to become a web designer of professional repute however, you’ll have to get more diverse knowledge. You’ll need to study various programming essentials like HTML, PHP and MySQL. An excellent grasp of E-Commerce and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) will also improve your CV and employability.
Getting your first commercial position can feel more straightforward with a Job Placement Assistance service. But don’t place too much emphasis on it – it isn’t unusual for their marketing department to make it sound harder than it is. In reality, the still growing need for IT personnel in Great Britain is what will make you attractive to employers.
However, what is relevant is to have help and assistance with preparing a CV and getting interviews though; and we’d recommend all students to bring their CV up to date as soon as they start a course – don’t delay till you’ve finished your exams.
Quite frequently, you’ll secure your first position while you’re still a student (even in the early stages). If you haven’t updated your CV to say what you’re studying (and it isn’t in the hands of someone with jobs to offer) then you won’t even be considered!
Normally you’ll get better results from a specialist independent regional employment service than any training company’s recruitment division, as they will understand the local industry and employment needs.
Please make sure you don’t conscientiously work through your course materials, and then just stop and imagine someone else is miraculously going to sort out your employment. Stop procrastinating and make your own enquiries. Channel as much time and energy into getting the right position as you did to gain the skills.
It’s usual for students to get confused with one area of their training which is often not even considered: The breakdown of the course materials before being packaged off through the post.
You may think that it makes sense (with training often lasting 2 or 3 years to pass all the required exams,) for a training company to release a single section at a time, until you’ve passed all the exams. But:
What would happen if you didn’t finish all the exams at the proposed pace? Sometimes their preference of study order won’t be as easy as another different route may.
For maximum flexibility and safety, many trainees now want to have all their training materials (which they’ve now paid for) posted to them in one go, with nothing held back. It’s then up to you at what speed and in which order you’d like to take your exams.
The age-old way of teaching, utilising reference manuals and books, can be pretty hard going sometimes. If all this is ringing some familiar bells, check out study materials that are on-screen and interactive.
Research has constantly confirmed that an ‘involved’ approach to study, where we utilise all our senses, is far more likely to produce long-lasting memories.
Programs are now found in the form of CD and DVD ROM’s, where everything is taught on your PC. Video streaming means you are able to see your instructors showing you how to do something, with some practice time to follow – via the interactive virtual lab’s.
It’s wise to view some examples of the kind of training materials you’ll be using before you sign on the dotted line. The minimum you should expect would be instructor-led video demonstrations and audio-visual elements backed up by interactive lab’s.
It’s unwise to opt for on-line only training. Because of the variable quality and reliability of most broadband providers, you should always obtain disc based courseware (On CD or DVD).
Chat with almost any proficient consultant and they’ll regale you with many awful tales of salespeople ripping-off unsuspecting students. Only deal with a skilled professional that quizzes you to uncover the best thing for you – not for their wallet! You need to find an ideal starting-point that fits you.
Of course, if in the past you’ve acquired any previous certification, then you will often be able to start at a different point than a student who’s starting from scratch.
Where this will be your first effort at IT study then you should consider whether to practice with some basic Microsoft package and Windows skills first.

Should you be wanting to study to get an MCSE, it’s likely you’ll come into one of two categories. You might be ready to get into the IT environment, and you’ve discovered that the industry has a great need for people with the right qualifications. Or you are perhaps an IT professional ready to gain acknowledgement with the Microsoft qualification.
Always make sure you prove conclusively that the training company you use is actually training you on the latest Microsoft level. Many students are left in a mess when they find that they’ve been studying for an outdated version which inevitably will have to be up-dated.
Avoid making a hasty decision when buying a course for MCSE before having all your questions answered. Find a training provider that will put effort into advising you on the most suitable training path for you.
You’ll come across courses which guarantee examination passes – this always means exams have to be paid for upfront, at the start of your training. Before you jump at the chance of a guarantee, consider this:
It’s become essential these days that we’re a bit more aware of hype – and generally we know that for sure it is something we’re paying for – they’re not just being charitable and doling out freebies!
Passing first time is everyone’s goal. Going for exams in order and funding them one at a time has a marked effect on pass-rates – you take it seriously and think carefully about the costs.
Hold on to your money and pay for the exam when you take the exam, and keep hold of your own money. You’ll also be able to choose where to do the examinations – meaning you can choose a local testing centre.
Paying in advance for examination fees (and interest charges if you’re borrowing money) is a false economy. Why fill a company’s coffers with extra money of yours just to give them a good cash-flow! Many will hope you don’t even take them all – then they’ll keep the extra money.
Don’t forget, in the majority of cases of ‘exam guarantees’ – you are not in control of when you are allowed to have another go. You’ll have to prove conclusively that you can pass before they’ll pay for another exam.
Average exam fees were 112 pounds or thereabouts in the last 12 months via Prometric or VUE centres around the United Kingdom. So don’t be talked into shelling out hundreds or thousands of pounds more to have ‘an Exam Guarantee’, when it’s obvious that the responsible approach is consistent and systematic learning, coupled with quality exam simulation software.
In most cases, your normal trainee doesn’t know what way to go about starting in a computing career, let alone what sector to focus their retraining program on.
Perusing long lists of different and confusing job titles is just a waste of time. The vast majority of us have no idea what our next-door neighbours do at work each day – let alone understand the intricacies of a new IT role.
Getting to the right answer can only grow through a systematic analysis of many altering criteria:
* Our personalities play an important role – what gets you ‘up and running’, and what are the activities that put a frown on your face.
* Do you hope to accomplish a specific aspiration – for instance, working for yourself someday?
* Is the money you make further up on your priority-list than other requirements.
* There are many ways to train in IT – there’s a need to get some key facts on what separates them.
* You’ll also need to think hard about the amount of time and effort you’re going to give to your education.
The bottom line is, the only real way of investigating all this is through a meeting with someone who has enough background to provide solid advice.
Finding your first job in the industry is often made easier with the help of a Job Placement Assistance service. Because of the growing shortage of skills in Great Britain today, there’s no need to make too much of this option though. It really won’t be that difficult to land the right work once you’re properly qualified.
Nevertheless, avoid waiting until you’ve passed your final exams before getting your CV updated. Right at the beginning of your training, list what you’re working on and place it on jobsites!
Getting onto the ‘maybe’ pile of CV’s is more than not being regarded at all. A surprising amount of junior support roles are offered to students (who’ve only just left first base.)
Generally, a specialist independent regional employment agency (who will get paid by the employer when they’ve placed you) should get better results than any division of a training company. It also stands to reason that they’ll know local industry and the area better.
Please ensure you don’t spend hundreds of hours on your training and studies, only to stop and leave it in the hands of the gods to land you a job. Stand up for yourself and get on with the job. Put as much resource into securing your first job as it took to get qualified.
Massive developments are about to hit technology over the next few decades – and it only gets more exciting every day.
We’re barely beginning to understand what this change will mean to us. How we interact with the world will be massively affected by technology and the internet.
Wages in the IT sector aren’t to be ignored moreover – the average salary in the United Kingdom for an average person working in IT is considerably more than in the rest of the economy. It’s likely that you’ll earn a much better deal than you’d expect to earn doing other work.
Demand for well trained and qualified IT technicians is certain for quite some time to come, thanks to the continuous expansion in the marketplace and the vast skills gap that remains.

PC and network support technicians are increasingly in demand in this country, as companies have come to depend on their technical advice and skills. The world’s requirement for the above mentioned people is constantly growing, as commercial enterprise becomes more and more technologically advanced.
It’s likely that you’re a practical sort of person – a ‘hands-on’ individual. Usually, the trial of reading reference books and manuals is something you’ll make yourself do if you have to, but you really wouldn’t enjoy it. You should use video and multimedia based materials if you’d really rather not use books.
If we can get all of our senses involved in our learning, then we normally see dramatically better results.
The latest audio-visual interactive programs featuring instructor demo’s and practice lab’s will forever turn you away from traditional book study. And they’re a lot more fun to do.
It’s very important to see some example materials from each company you’re contemplating. Be sure that they contain video, demonstrations and various interactive elements.
Often, companies will only use purely on-line training; and although this is okay the majority of the time, think what will happen if your access to the internet is broken or you only get very a very slow connection sometimes. It is usually safer to have DVD or CD discs that will solve that problem.
Often, students don’t think to check on something of absolutely vital importance – the way their training provider actually breaks down and delivers the courseware sections, and into what particular chunks.
Often, you’ll enrol on a course requiring 1-3 years study and receive one element at a time until graduation. This may seem sensible until you think about these factors:
What would happen if you didn’t finish each and every exam at the speed they required? Often the prescribed exam order doesn’t come as naturally as another different route may.
Put simply, the best option is to obtain their recommendation on the best possible order of study, but make sure you have all of your learning modules right from the beginning. Everything is then in your possession in case you don’t finish within their ideal time-table.
When did you last consider your job security? Normally, this isn’t an issue until we experience a knock-back. Unfortunately, the lesson often learned too late is that job security doesn’t really exist anymore, for most of us.
Whereas a sector experiencing fast growth, where there just aren’t enough staff to go round (due to a big shortfall of properly qualified staff), opens the possibility of proper job security.
Investigating the computing market, the most recent e-Skills survey showed a 26 percent skills deficit. Showing that for every 4 jobs existing in the computer industry, we have only 3 certified professionals to fulfil that role.
Fully qualified and commercially accredited new employees are accordingly at an absolute premium, and in all likelihood it will stay that way for a long time.
Quite simply, gaining new qualifications in IT during the years to come is very likely the best career direction you could choose.
A question; why ought we to be looking at commercial qualifications as opposed to more traditional academic qualifications taught at schools and Further Education colleges?
With the costs of academic degree’s increasing year on year, along with the IT sector’s general opinion that vendor-based training is often far more commercially relevant, we’ve seen a great increase in Microsoft, CISCO, Adobe and CompTIA certified training programmes that supply key solutions to a student for much less time and money.
Obviously, an appropriate degree of associated information needs to be taught, but precise specifics in the particular job function gives a commercially educated person a huge edge.
It’s a bit like the TV advert: ‘It does what it says on the label’. Employers simply need to know what areas need to be serviced, and then request applicants with the correct exam numbers. That way they can be sure they’re interviewing applicants who can do the job.

Anybody thinking about training for the computer industry will notice the number of diverse options on offer. Before embarking on a course, find a company with industry experts, so you can get information on the job roles your training program is designed for. Maybe you’ll find jobs you didn’t know about.
The courses range from Microsoft User Skills up to Web Design, Databases, Programming and Networking. There’s a lot to choose from and so the chances are you’ll want to talk through your options with an industry expert prior to making your choice: it would be awful to start the wrong training for an area that you don’t enjoy!
By minimising their overheads, there are training providers today supplying up-to-the-minute courses with excellent training and mentoring for considerably less money than is expected from the old-style trainers.
Qualifications from the commercial sector are now, most definitely, starting to replace the traditional academic paths into the IT industry – why then should this be?
Accreditation-based training (as it’s known in the industry) is far more specialised and product-specific. Industry has become aware that this level of specialised understanding is essential to handle an increasingly more technical workplace. CISCO, Adobe, Microsoft and CompTIA dominate in this arena.
Academic courses, as a example, clog up the training with vast amounts of loosely associated study – and much too wide a syllabus. This holds a student back from learning the core essentials in sufficient depth.
What if you were an employer – and you required somebody who had very specific skills. What should you do: Pore through reams of different degrees and college qualifications from various applicants, having to ask what each has covered and which commercial skills they have, or select a specialised number of commercial certifications that precisely match your needs, and make your short-list from that. Your interviews are then about personal suitability – instead of having to work out if they can do the job.
Most training providers will only provide support available from 9-6 (office hours) and sometimes later on specific days; not many go late into the evening (after 8-9pm) or cover weekends properly.
Always avoid training courses that only support you with a message system when it’s outside of usual working hours. Training organisations will try to talk you round from this line of reasoning. Essentially – you want to be supported when you need the help – not at times when they find it cheaper to provide it.
Keep looking and you’ll come across professional training packages who offer direct-access support at all times – at any time of day or night.
If you opt for less than 24×7 support, you’ll regret it. You may avoid using the support during late nights, but what about weekends, late evenings or early mornings.
Make sure that all your exams are current and also valid commercially – don’t bother with programmes that lead to in-house certificates.
To an employer, only the big-boys like Microsoft, CompTIA, Adobe or Cisco (as an example) will get you into the interview seat. Anything less won’t make the grade.
There are colossal changes coming via technology as we approach the second decade of the 21st century – and the industry becomes more ground-breaking every year.
Society largely thinks that the revolution in technology we have experienced is cooling down. This couldn’t be more wrong. Terrific advances are ahead of us, and the internet particularly will become an increasingly dominant part of our lives.
The average IT worker throughout Britain is likely to receive a lot more money than equivalent professionals outside of IT. Mean average wages are some of the best to be had nationwide.
It’s no secret that there is a substantial national need for certified IT specialists. It follows that with the marketplace continuing to expand, it looks like there’s going to be for the significant future.
